In The Line of Duty
A song I wrote to memorialize those who gave their all on the blue line.
I have been helping a group of retired and current LEO's who are going to use my Back the Blue domain (more later on that), where I can, when I can and whenever they call. Several years ago I produced a BRPD Memorial Video, honoring those who have given their call, with BRPD (that video is posted here, in this blog as well).
Anyway, that video, I've discovered will be on Back the Blue's new site, which I did not request but am happy to report. I was telling the guys, who are working on that site, that I had written a song, honoring the fallen LEO's from all-over, not just BRPD and which I had titled 'In the Line of Duty' and which I just had professionally produced. They wanted to hear it.
They are estastic! Me too because I honestly wasn't certain as to how it may be received. That song (the same one as below) will share a page with the aforementioned video on BTB's new site.
I decided to give my friends an early expose', if you will. You get it now.

[Intro] In the quiet dawn of a long, hard day, we gather 'round to say, For those who stood so brave, we honor all who gave away.
[Verse 1] Out in the heart of the wood and the steel, there's a story that still feels real, Heroes dressed in blue with courage by their side, so many nights they walked that line.
[Pre-Chorus] To protect and serve, they made their vow, A sacrifice that time can't break, we remember them now.
[Chorus] Raise your glass to the fallen, lift your voice high, For the brave souls who fought, beneath the endless sky. They stood the watch, took the stand, always holding the line, We remember our heroes, those hearts so pure, divine.
[Verse 2] A badge against the darkness, they stood so tall, Every call that came in, they answered the call. From the city streets to the fields where they roamed, For each sacrifice taken, they built us a home.
[Pre-Chorus] So let the stars shine a little brighter tonight, For the souls that kept us safe from the wrong and the fight.
[Chorus] Raise your glass to the fallen, lift your voice high, For the brave souls who fought, beneath the endless sky. They stood the watch, took the stand, always holding the line, We remember our heroes, those hearts so pure, divine.
[Bridge] In our hearts, their legacy remains, a guiding light through the pain, We hold onto their stories, their laughter through the rain.
[Outro] So here's to those who served, with honor on their sleeves, The blue line keeps us safer, just remember what they believe. Raise your voice, share the tales, let their courage shine through, In the line of duty, we'll always remember you.
